Special Missions & Combat Polish
Tavern questlines open into special expeditions, with clearer quests and sharper combat feedback.
Finishing a tavern questline can be a beginning as well as an ending. The Special Missions update opened new expeditions after those questlines, giving returning adventurers another reason to prepare a crew and head back to the islands.
The announced missions covered both islands, with Normal, Curse + and Curse ++ variants. Star and Crown Crystals offered powerful rewards, while Ancient Vaults added discoveries beneath the sea. The update extended the journey beyond familiar objectives without treating every return to the tavern as a reset.
There was practical work around those expeditions too. Quest objectives and Tavern Requests were brought together in a Quests tab, with quick access to tavern facilities. Expedition summaries became clearer about the destination, selected mission, crew and island best. The aim was to make the next departure easier to understand before committing to it.
Combat polish accompanied the new challenges. Hold the Line, Heavy Hand and other passive skills received balance improvements. Fixes also addressed combat feedback, inventory, rewards, saves and the flow of an expedition.
Announced on 4 September 2026, this update paired a deeper set of challenges with changes to the screens and systems around them. New objectives matter; so does being able to see what the expedition asks of you and what your crew brought back.
