New Tales, Old Secrets
Stories, character progression and a clearer first expedition: the work behind update 1.4.
With New Tales, Old Secrets, update 1.4 brought more of Vaultara’s world into the journey. The focus was on new stories, deeper character progression and improved combat mechanics: more reasons to care about the crew, and more ways to shape it during an expedition.
The announcement spoke of old mysteries beginning to surface and familiar faces taking on new roles. We are keeping those discoveries in the game. This note records the direction of the update without turning its stories into a list of answers to find before setting sail.
Growth also meant looking closely at the beginning of the adventure. The opening experience received clearer gameplay guidance, while interface refinements helped make the game’s choices easier to read. Those changes sit alongside the new content: a richer world is more useful when players can understand how to move through it.
Stability and progression fixes were another part of the work. They received space in the same update because a story or character system depends on the journey holding together from one expedition to the next.
This milestone was announced on Steam on 26 September 2026. It reflects a game continuing to grow in Early Access, with player feedback helping guide both new material and the quieter work of making existing systems clearer.
